The main objective in modern cataract surgery is to achieve a better unaided visual acuity with rapid post surgical recovery and minimal surgery related complications. The use of smaller incision with advantages of faster rehabilitation, lesser astigmatism and better postoperative unaided vision has made phacoemulsification the technique of choice.
This course is meant to make an ECCE-IOL/SICS surgeon familiar with the phacoemulsification and its various advantages. This training programme is especially meant for ophthalmologists who are familiar with ECCE&SICS and want to upgradetheir skills.
The training period is one month. The course will beginon the 1st of every month & will b eover on the last day of the same month. The training will be on sculpting, nucleofractis, rotation of the nucleus and emulsification by 4quadrant divideand conquer technique. The candidate will initially observe, dostepsurgeries, complete surgery under supervision & perform independentsurgery in the last week.

    Eligibility for Admission

Admission to the course will be restricted to qualified ophthalmologists with adequate experience in cataract surgery.
